I purchased this gadget to hold my phone in my craft room and office. It securely held my phone but allowed me to slide my hand down without interfering with the volume control. The hands can be rotated, and I think it would make a great stocking stuffer.

It took me a while to find the perfect positioning for it, especially since my phone is in a somewhat bulky case. However, it works well and is highly adjustable with a clean appearance. The stand holds the phone in place, but I have to be a bit careful with my bulky case. If you don't have a bulky case, it's even easier to use. It can still accommodate a case that flips open.
It's amazing how the simplest solution can be the most satisfying. I needed it to hold my phone for watching longer videos or making video calls. I prefer not to use a pop-out phone case and instead have it stand on something else. Even with my thick case, the handy grip has no problems holding the phone securely.
